This shows a direct connection between research and its concrete application.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>Hi Charline,<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What&#8217;s your background? What made you want to join the Clinatec team? and what project are you working on?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I did a master&#8217;s degree in Probability and Applied Statistics at the University of Lorraine. During my Masters, I was lucky enough to do a 6-month internship at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lih.lu\/fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luxembourg Institute of Health<\/a>. I discovered how data analysis and statistics can be made available to the<b> medical research.<\/b> After my Master&#8217;s, I continued with a thesis, at the University of Luxembourg and the Luxembourg Institute of Health, on &#8220;Use of artificial intelligence methods for the analysis of real-world and social media data in digital epidemiology&#8221;, focusing in particular on the <b>diabete<\/b> and diabetes-related distress.<\/p>\n<p>I arrived at Clinatec just after completing my thesis, in January 2024. The fact that Clinatec responds directly to the needs expressed by doctors really inspired me. This shows a direct connection between research and its <b>concrete application<\/b>, which is essential for me. I like the idea of working in an environment where research can quickly be transformed into solutions to improve the health and well-being of patients.<\/p>\n<p>I am currently working on the <b>&#8216;Diabetes and stress&#8217;<\/b> project, which aims to develop a simple and widely accessible tool for recognizing and quantifying states of stress. This is particularly relevant for people with diabetes, as chronic stress can significantly affect blood sugar levels. To achieve this goal, I&#8217;ll be analyzing various types of data, including voice and physiological data. We hope to launch a <b>clinical study<\/b> and recruit diabetic patients to monitor stress and blood sugar levels in greater depth. This represents a crucial step, although there&#8217;s still a lot of work to be done to get there. Our medium-term objective is to transform our research into a practical and effective tool for patients and healthcare professionals.<\/p>\n<p>The main technical and scientific challenge of this project lies in the <b>accuracy and reliability<\/b> of data collection and analysis. Indeed, stress indicators, particularly in a context such as diabetes, can be subtle and vary considerably from one person to another.<\/p>\n<p>The Fonds Clinatec represents an incredible opportunity for career advancement, thanks to the breadth and depth of experience I&#8217;ll be gaining. Working on the &#8216;Diabetes and Stress&#8217; project will not only enable me to familiarize myself with new types of data, but also broaden my skills in analyzing complex data.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll also gain experience in conducting clinical studies, from patient recruitment to managing ethical and logistical aspects, and enrich my understanding of the medical research process. This will provide me with an essential perspective that goes beyond pure research.<\/p>\n<p>What&#8217;s more, working in a multidisciplinary team like the one at Fonds Clinatec is a considerable asset.
