Safra has been working for several years to develop innovative technological solutions for neurodegenerative diseases. Professors Benabid and Mitrofanis have initiated and developed the use of photobiomodulation in preclinical animal models of Parkinson\u2019s disease with the use of an intracranial implant. This method is currently in clinical trial, under the direction of Professor Chabard\u00e8s at the University Hospital in Grenoble.\n\nThe benefits of photobiomodulation are multiple and its use can be extended to other disease models, including Alzheimer\u2019s disease, the subject of the COVEA NEUROTEC project initiated in 2021 at the Clinatec Endowment Fund and supervised by Professor John Mitrofanis, scientific director. The main goal of this project is to characterize the effect of photobiomodulation with an extracranial device. Other pathologies and disease models are being explored including post-myocardial infarction recovery with Grenoble Hospital (CHUGA), traumatic brain injury with Lyon Hospital (HCL) and sleep disorders.\n\nThe engineer will be responsible for coordinating and supervising technical developments related to the Clinatec Funds projects. This includes finalizing the cardio device in collaboration with subcontractors and adapting new devices for clinical trials to come in 2024. The engineer will work closely with clinicians to ensure that devices are tailored to the specific needs of each trial.\n\nAdditionally, the engineer will assist researchers in setting up test benches for their experiments. This may involve designing and building equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring that experiments run smoothly.\n\nThe engineer should have strong technical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. He should also have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with subcontractors, clinicians, and researchers.\n\nOverall, the engineer&#8217;s role will be crucial in advancing the development of innovative technological solutions for neurodegenerative diseases and other related pathologies.\n\n<b>Skills and expertise :<\/b>\n\nThe applicant must have expertise in the fields of electronics system definition and realization. She\/he must have previous experience in setting up pre-clinical or clinical devices and coordinating interdisciplinary teams. Experience in the field of photobiomodulation and\/or in the general field of photonics is very much desired as some projects need to set up bench instruments and bench tests. Understanding of regulatory requirements and standards in medical device development is a plus.\n\nThe applicant must be motivated, autonomous, organized and, ultimately, demonstrate a real team spirit to fit in seamlessly and thrive within a multidisciplinary environment.\nA master\u2019s degree in electronical engineering, physics, or a related field is required. She\/he must have between 5 and 10 years of professional experience.\n\nThe initial position duration is set at two years, meaning that the employee will work in that position for a period of two years. However, there is a possibility for a one-year extension if the project&#8217;s results and requirements warrant it. This means that if the project is successful and there is a need for continued work in the same position, the employee may have the option to extend their employment for an additional year. The decision to extend the position will be based on the evaluation of the project&#8217;s outcomes and the ongoing needs of the organization.\n\n<b style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-size ); letter-spacing: var( --e-global-typography-text-letter-spacing ); text-align: var(--text-align);\">Localisation :<\/b>\n\nThe position is open at the Clinatec site, the Edmond J. Safra biomedical research centre in Grenoble. In partnership with CEA, CHU Grenoble, UGA, and the Clinatec Endowment Fund, bringing together technologists, biologists and clinicians, Clinatec\u2019s mission is to develop and optimise the transfer of innovative solutions to patients. As part of this mission, several projects to develop innovative new medical devices in the field of neurodegenerative diseases and disability are currently underway on the Clinatec structure.\n\nEquipments available on the Clinatec platform will be accessible, including functional MRI, MEG, biological laboratories, an electronic platform.\n\nThe Clinatec Endowment Fund now includes 10 researchers, post-docs, engineers and PhD students.
